SPOILER THEORY FOR BUILD 5

Alright, so now we know the truth about humans extinction, BUT, have they really gone extinct? Most definitely there are more humans and, unlike Alex, they would want vengeance! So my theory is: last humans created the virus that affects bipeds reproduction, the one responsible for increasing female population. And, perhaps, those last humans have a cure for it, while Alex has none.

Damn boy, the new build is... something really good, great job!

SPOILERS!

So, do you think what Glitch said is a lie? I mean, yeah, he's manipulated Alex and acted like a scumbag and his motivation is pretty eerie and mysterious, but... His story makes sense, partly? The history of Soulcreek and the fact that bipeds genocided the humans? What do you think?

Friends, really?

I didn't pay the quick warm up much mind, besides I've only followed the path when you run with the fox.  For me, personally, mysterious watcher is an issue, as I've said, I hope writer has an adequate explanation for it.

First of all, I want to apologize for my ignorant and hasty comment before, it wasn't right to make conclusions before playing Cleaved based purely on VN's usage of isekai trope.

Cleaved surprised me, really, judging purely by page description I expected another uninteresting and boring, childish MC. Yes, the novel uses isekai trope, but in really good way, a MC with scientific (in technical fields) background sounds pretty intriguing. Even though I still don't like the whole "evil voices in your head" cliche, I can imagine various ways to use it good.

I've chosen Frasier path and a possible political conflict intrigues me too. I liked the fox, he has good looks (thanks haps), pleasant character and, all in all, is the best boy.

In the end I'd like ro apologize again for my rude comment, I'm definitely going to follow Cleaved updates and hope it'll turn a better game than other novels with similar tropes!

Sometimes it's really exhausting. That's why I'm asking in comms instead of playing: to avoid wasting time on "FBTW 2.0" or "Adastra 3.0".

People who's read it already, how's the whole MC situation? Another isekai, another amnesia, another puny human in a world of big wolves... Probably another voice in the head... Correct me, in case I'm judging it too harshly. How bad/good it's now? What are the chances of MC turning into a simp in the future updates?

Many people won't like this, but I'm still gonna say it: Silver's mom is hot AF(literally a m.i.l.f)

The whole thing with mating, in my opinion takes a little bit more place that it should, but besides that the update is incredible!

And those disturbing blabbering sounds... The first time you hear it it doesn't frighten you that much, but in the end... And that laughter... Truly chilling experience.

I place my bets that the algorithm is some sort of a virus.

All in all I like Soulcreek very much! The horror elements beat Echo 100%

But, IMHO the whole theme with sex is a little rushed and takes more place than it should. For example, hearing really scary noises almost right after sex scene is... Unpleasant.

I guess, there is nothing wrong at liking him because he is a wolf, but, if you don't mind me asking, what is there anything more to his story? After reading through all the updates, including the Patreon one, we can say it's not only about Xavier and Cyrus. There had been multiple people he sold, intentionally, for money. And he knew what Resoom is doing with humans, after all he had been fighting against it. If it was only about Xavier and Cyrus, I would have understood sympathy for him, but knowing all the details,  I don't. It might sound cruel, but IMO Lance doesn't deserve mercy, neither have justification for his doings.

By "still like to be with Cooper" you mean he has in your opinion a better outlook, right?

Probably the best FVN with"Human with amnesia" trope. It's just so damn interesting, the concept of tribal civilization living using the remains of the old. Not the newest idea, but still executed well.  And Apex, ohoho, Alex is great. Can't wait to read the future builds, uncover the truth about MC's past and, of course, see his relationship with Loken develop.

Oh, really? I don't want to bother, but can you name characters, who will have a route?

Nice. Can't wait for route choosing!

And was eager to listen to random guy's relationships and was able to point out his problem. Though I understand what you mean.

Still, that was a very convenient coincidence, right when MC needed it. As I have said, it's not bad, it's just simple and convenient.

After reading comments below, I have a feeling that my opinion on the update is rather unpopular, but in any way I'd like to point out that the whole conversation with the whore is... A plot device, let's be honest. Of course, not as bad as Deus Ex Machina, but still it's very convenient that MC has stumbled upon a random whore, who, what a surprise, has changed MC's views on the delicate situation he has found himself in. But, as I have said, it's not that bad, after all, it HAS changed MC in some point and that's good.

The human has finally stopped whining and trying to have everything like he wants. Here's the most unpopular opinion here, I'm going to get a lot of downvotes because of it: MC SHOULD STAY in Standbard.  Ranok is right: returning would not only bring danger on his life and lives of others, but it  cause many troubles, starting with questions about his past life and his ability to speak. Sooner or later his abilities would become known and then what?  Staying out of the Tribe will let him get knowledge about the world,  about himself. And most importantly, it will let him become more independent, mature and, perhaps, he will find answers about his situation, which, in my opinion, is the first thing he must worry about. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he should stop caring about Ranok and his tribe, even though almost everyone there has treated him like mindless animal/slave, I think he should do it more consciously, with an understanding of who he is and what his place in the world is, without whining and belittling in front of those who do not consider him a reasonable being. If he returns, things will be the same: he is just gonna sit and listen, sometimes talk privately with those, who don't treat him like sub being completely and the arch of traveling in Standbard will be almost... Useless.

Maybe it's connected to that human sorcerer, Frey, if I remember correctly. We were given an information about her and her death, but I'm not sure. I want to believe that the info about her is a Chekhov's gun and not just useless text just for the sake of text.

Also, in case my assumptions are incorrect, and MC was brought in the world by the wolf goddess, than, I'm afraid we will get something like:"You were brought to this world in order to restore/change/save wolf society". And that would be... Well, disappointing, in my opinion, of course.

Alright, now I'm really curious what or who has brought MC to this world. You can say "Wolf goddess, obviously", but I think it's too simple and predictable. There must be something more to that.

The only noticeable con is the quality of some sprites and backgrounds. Otherwise, the game is quite good. Personally I'm interested in Selma's route. Can anyone say whether she will have one?  By route I mean romantic relationship.

(1 edit)

At the end of the summer, I wrote a small review in which I described my subjective opinion about this novel. In case of FBtW, it was(still is) difficult because, being a visual novel, it requires an ending so that we can all rate the story, lore, characters and their development.

4.8.3 is far from the final update, and, if my assumptions are correct, we won't see the ending soon. However, it seems to me that it is extremely important for the further development and progression of the plot. And here is why.

*SPOILERS*

The conflict between the main character and Ranok can, and, in my humble opinion, should play an important role not only in the plot as a whole, but also in the development of Caelan as a character. Throughout the story, he appears as an immature, but kind and very understanding person. Despite all the humiliations, nicknames and disrespect with which he was treated, he was able to see good things in wolves and sincerely tries to help them and don't judge anyone (even though sometimes he is hypocritical, but aren't we all) .  The only nuance here is the fast pace of the love relationship and human's excessive attempts to associate with the tribe, however, this may be explained by Caelan's amnesia, which seems to be an acceptable reason.

And here the tense political situation and it's consequences comes into play. Ranok's betrayal was, as for me, a surprise. His motives are understandable, but the terrible performance really causes unpleasant feelings, not only for me, but also for the main character. Because, let's be honest: after the first sexual experience and the reveal of history with Tano, telling such harsh truth is a bad idea, simply leaving Caelan somewhere else is a bad idea. However this moment, in my opinion, has a great potential  potential for personal growth of the character.  Growth as an independent person, who seeks his place at a strange new world, the world he is not from. Unpleasant experience can lead to significant opportunities for the story.

And here I would like to pay attention to the issue of choice. FBtW is not Fallout, no one, including me, expects some global decisions that determine the fate of the entire forest, no. However, looking at the choices in the first chapters and their consequences, their continued presence would be desirable, if not as an influence on the whole world of the novel, then at least a small influence on the protagonist as a character and his own story. And I really hope that it will be so, and the choices, like "To forgive" or "Not to forgive" will be present.

As I have said above, the conflict between Caelan and Ranok's can lead to many interesting outcomes, we might even get more information about Avalon as a whole. Uncover the truth about whispers, find the truth about MC's transgression into the new world. "Wolf goddess gave me birth" is pretty poetic, but I doubt it's the main reason. Lions, the fall of humanity - all that must play a role, I'm sure these aren't just some explanation just for the sake of explanation.

Yes, these are strong assumptions that may not come true at all. It may just be empty speculations. However, I see a lot of potential in FBtW, which, in my opinion, has increased significantly after this update. I'm looking forward for updates.

Oh, if you have read up to here, then I want to say once again that the above is purely my personal assumptions.  You may disagree with them.

Soo... Can faolti and humans have offsprings?

Nice art, but I meant something different.

I guess I can find them in Twitter? Maybe they will be different in the game? Of course, there is a chance that we won't see it, I don't know how long FBtW is going to be.

You know, all these ""debates"" are very interesting and all, but I have suddenly got interested in how do lions look in this world? I mean, wolves are tall and considering the fact that the real world's lions are bigger than wolves, so I'm interested in how do they look like.

After thinking about it, controlling someone's body through touching seems curious though.

I doubt it is like in TLA(Aang is better then Korra, change my mind), but we can't know for certain. After all, blood bending comes from water bending, so you need to know it first as I remember.

I am hoping to see some Dragon Age blood magic: extremely powerful and dangerous for those who oppose its users.

But again, we can't know for certain.

I wonder, how does blood magic look and work in the game's universe? And most importantly, what can someone achieve using it?

Really? Damn, so much missed info. In that case, I wonder. In one of the books it was stated that humans had ruled the world, so how powerful ones can be to achieve such thing?

(1 edit)

Correct me in case I am wrong, but isn't Avalon(very similar to Avalan) - the place from British folklore where king Arthur has gone after being gravely injured?  I wonder whether it's just a coincidence or not.

You mean about haters making something more popular? Yeah, that's true

I agree that HoneyQuinn's complaint is subjective and exagerrated, but I wouldn't call it hate

I will consider that

Well, I have spent a couple of hours playing the game, thinking about it, trying different choices, have changed some opinions and I think it's time to write a giant f**king wall of text that I call a "full review" (doubtful statement, but we will return to it in the bottom of the "wall").

So let's start with me saying something important in my opinion. Before playing FBtW I've taken a quick peek at the comments, but I want you to know that they had no affect on my opinion and experience, I am just a straight dude wanting to find some good FVN and you know what? I found a GOOD game, there is no doubt in that, not without little flaws, but still.

Point 1: Design, art style, music, atmosphere (?) (Not contradictory topics)

Nice(just nice) Art is good, simple, but yet beautiful and not primitive, there is nothing else to say.  Especially I love the fact that backgrounds and characters and CGs have the same style and level of details, in many visual novels(FVNs on itch specifically) backgrounds look more detailed and contrast with characters, it's not a bad thing, don't get me wrong, it's just not as pleasing as identical ones. Characters look good, like really good(I wish I could hug Cora so much...)  Sound: alright, main menu theme is the best,  it makes me feel like I'm far from home, but the rest of the OST is normal, you know, just normal.

Point 2: Plot and everything that makes it good and capturing.

Oh man, I don't know where to start... Ah, got it, with bigger picture and personal experience! You know why I'm going to visit this page from time to time? Why this novel has captured my attention? Simple word:POTENTIAL. This game has a great potential of becoming long and great adventure marching side by side with Caelan's growth as a character. All those details about the world, these Chekhov's guns hanging on a wall, the protagonist facing something yet unknown and alien.

Characters are good, at first some of them may seem to be simple, but I don't think so. Vulgor is my favorite #2,  I love characters who has fallen a victim of society's pressure and become aggressive, excluded from others and yet they contain a piece of goodness in them. His motives are understandable. Ranok is... What was that slang word... Himbo? He is pleasant, charming, sometimes take risks. Verissa may look like a "Men dumb" type of woman, but it's to early to decide whether such statement is good or bad.

And of course, how can I forget about my queen, my furry waifu #2 - Cora. Adorable, beautiful, attractive girl, I could simp to her for eternity. Best girl.

Now it's time for the controversial topics. Important: none of what I say is 100% true and I don't want you to think I see my opinion as some biblical truths.

I can understand some people complaining in the comments, I don't agree with them in most parts, but it's there opinions. Yeah, Caelan far from perfect, he does irrational things?,totally, sometimes it would be better to restrain himself?, absolutely. Yeah, I find his and Ranok's relationship too rapid and fast forward, and yet I sometimes like him, he has his beliefs, his opinion, he can become a good guy, who won't need to depend on wolves in everything.  This whole comment may soon become meaningless as the story will continue.

And that's the tricky part: 4 of 5, I would rate FBtW. But I won't, until the story is done. I don't care how long will it take. The main component of a visual novel is a story and evey story must have an end to be completed.

In conclusion I would like to say that I enjoyed playing this novel, no matter what lies ahead of it's way.

And if you disagree with me or agree I am always up to discussion... Except the time I sleep... And it's 24 of August...

Нормально

Oh, cool. I am russian myself that's why I asked about it.

Hey, I know it's none of my business, but judging by your nickname I assume you are russian?

I'll keep that in mind, but I'm sure a little bit of criticism won't hurt anyone though it's too soon to say anything about it.
